How does Sentinel learn what I care about?

You configure the topic you want to monitor and choose the sources Sentinel should watch. It uses those choices together with its current relevance and freshness scoring to rank items in your digest. Sentinel does not use unsupported thumbs-up training or claim to train a private model on your feedback; the signal comes from the topic, source, and scoring settings you control.

What sources does Sentinel support?

Sentinel supports public RSS 2.0 and Atom feeds. Starter includes basic public-source coverage for one monitored topic. Pro expands coverage to the broader source set and custom public sources available in the product, so you can bring the feeds that matter to your workflow.

What do Pro’s automatic actions actually do?

Accepted Answer

When a scored item crosses the threshold you configure, Pro can send one HTTPS POST to your webhook destination for that item. Actions are Pro-gated and cron-driven, so they run as part of Sentinel’s scheduled monitoring rather than as an always-on stream. They are separate from email and Slack delivery: enabling an automatic action does not replace or change those notification channels.

How are private data and webhooks protected?

Your sources and settings are accessed per user, so one account cannot read another account’s private configuration. Webhook destinations must use HTTPS, and Sentinel blocks hostnames and DNS resolutions that point at private addresses. Webhook URLs are not logged. Signing or HMAC verification is reserved for a future version and is not active today, so do not treat the current webhook as signed.
